Default Two New Triumphs Rumored

from Motorcycle Daily.com

Quote:
Triumph's executives have been quoted as saying two entirely new models are coming for 2006. Of course, they are not disclosing what they might be. The strongest rumor suggests a three-cylinder sport bike displacing somewhere between 650cc and 800cc. Our vote goes for something closer to 800cc.

The more interesting rumor concerns a large displacement parallel-twin similar to the current Bonneville line of motorcycles. This would feature two of the three Rocket III cylinders, yielding a displacement of approximately 1530cc. If the engine were placed crossways in the frame (again, similar to the current Bonneville), it might just be the largest displacement bike of that engine configuration ever manufactured by a major OEM.

Both of the new bikes should be announced in the September-October time frame . . . possibly at the NEC show in England.

Hmmm good info. I'd trade in the V-Max if they produced a Rocket III/Twin bike. It would have to look good though.

Default Triumph 800cc

I don't know if you guys read the article from Cycle World -August 2005 issue. But, they have a read in there about "Triumph's Transformation". It talks about the 800cc 3-cylinder being spotted testing over seas.
A spokesman for Triumph says" When we do something, we're gonna do it in a distinctly Triumph way." "Today we wouldn't do the TT600. It's an inline-four 600, and there are four other manufacturers who do that very well." "We want to give consumersa distinctive reason to buy a Triumph."

If they release a 800cc 3-banger..that is for sure gonna be my toy for 2006
