Default track day costs

How much does your local track cost to get a run in? I'm just curious. Also, besides a helmet, what gear is required to get on the track?

Trackdays require full leathers, and most require safety wiring the bike, some require full bellypans as well. Portland International Raceway was about $150 for a full day if I rememeber right. Here in Italy, Monza is 90euro ($130) for a half day, and Rieccha in Croatia is 70euro ($95) for a half day.

Locally here it's $150 for a full day. However, there is a track in NM that is only $75/day and you get nearly twice as much riding time because of fewer groups. Sometimes it's just an open track.

Alot of organizations are allowing a Kevlar suit as an option to leather. Basically you can't have any exposed skin which means gloves and your footwear must cover your ankles. They don't have to be a racing boot.

I haven't seen a trackday require safety wire but it's a good idea to atleast do the drain plug. Most require that you not use antifreeze.

here in colorado there are 4 available for free practice. they all run in the $50 for half day. we've got butt loads of posers here in CO so the trackdays are never annoyingly packed like i've heard elsewhere. i guess that's a good & bad thing. there is a go cart track for $20 all day. on weekdays it's absolutely wonderful bcuz no one else is out there. i usually do that one at the beginning of the season so i can catch up on riding skills w/out looking silly or slow. full leathers required at all of them. my bike is lock-wired for mra specs, but it's not required for practice
