Default Fzr 600

I found this 1990 fzr 600 for $1595. It's got about 20,500 miles. Is it worth buying to use as a track bike? I really want to get a sv 650 for a track bike, so do you suppose i should wait until i find a good sv 650?

i had a 96 fzr 600. canyon riding it was fine, but when i got on the track the suspension turns to goo. the front end was all over the place everytime i went into a corner. it's just too soft. the back end was soft to begin with. maybe if you got new forks and a new shock it would be great. but after all that $$, maybe look into a 250 2-stroke.

I would love to find a two stroke bike, but i can never find one, or if i do, i cant justify spending and arm and a leg for it.

check ebay for some salvaged bikes. you might find newer bikes for the same price, albeit they probably won't have plastics and you'll have to get new forks or swingarm. but at least you'll have a better base powerplant/chassis to start with.

The FZR is good under reasonable road conditions; but BackMarkin is right it needs suspension upgrades BAD! Progressive makes a 420 series and front fork springs that might make it worth while though...about $450 if you know what your doing.
