Default Adjustable rearsets for the track

I broke my left rear set this morning on my bike. I am planning to eventually race it and have been making modifications to it as I can afford it. My question is, since the stock rearset is already broken, is it worth it just to go ahead and get some adjustable ones? Do adjustable rearsets really make a difference on the track? As far as racing goes I am as green as it gets. I haven't even done my first track day yet.

Since you broke the stock one I would probably buy a set of rear-sets. Probably not even that much more expensive.

As far as how much he helps, I don’t know, I’m still using the stockers on my 954. I did have to remove the little peg that stuck down but after that I only scraped them a few more times, The last two track days I didn’t scrape them at all so I think I must be leaning off the bike better, either that or I wore it down enough so now it’s not hitting .

Racing rearsets generally give you a little more ground clearance, grip on the footpegs and feedback about what the rear tire is doing over stock footpegs.

For long distance street riding, they can be a LITTLE buzzy if your stock footpegs have any rubber on them (and the ZZR does, correct?) as there's no damping anymore, but I don't think it would be too noticable.

I'm a huge fan of Woodcraft... Been using their products for 5 years now... Everything from rearsets to tire warmers and they're great people to deal with. Top knotch quality at a very reasonable price.

What about the fully adjustable kind? Is it worth the extra hundred bucks?

Agreed. Non-adjustable aftermarket rearsets typically move the pegs back and up around 3/4" each direction and you'll get use to it very quickly. Once you set the adjustables you probably won't change them.

At times you can find some pretty good used sets on ebay or the WERA board for a fraction of the $$$. Stick with the notables. Vortex, Woodcraft, Attack, Sato.....

I also use the Woodcraft rearsets and their strengthened side case covers as well - they make top notch stuff and are racers themselves!

FAST racers!!!

Frankly, I don't know why Jeff doesn't have a factory ride... I don't know a more deserving club racer. The guy rides like an effing maniac every time he throws his leg over a motorcycle.
