Default taking the skills

hey i've been riding for a better part of 5 yrs. and im looking at taking my skills and technique to the next level. i can say im a pretty decent rider but could use as much info as i can get to be that much better. i ride open roads due to the fact that there is no track anywhere near where i live. so again i live for the twisties so anything positive you have to offer will be great.

Your post is vague but I will recommend you go to a racetrack and do a trackday. Street and track are two different animals. Also, be prepared to spend all of your $$ if you decide you like it. If you elaborate everyone can help you out some more....

well i guess the track riding is out unless i move to the mainland. here in hawaii were not as fortunate to have one trust me, i and actually a lot of us would be on it if there was. so right now all i have to work with is the open road.
first off how about entering speed what could you suggest would be the best way to enter a turn but yet maintain and or keep a respectable speed so when exiting you'll be able to come out opening the throttle and yet have control?

How you done any reading? There are a few great books out for technique. I would recommend getting them and start reading, then putting things together on the road to better understand what works and WHY it works.

Sport Riding Techniques by Nick Ienatsch is one of the best books out there for improving your technique. I was amazed at how much better my riding got when I first read this book. I've since read it three or four times, pretty much every winter when I can't ride.

Another excellent book, though a bit more on the technical side, is Total Control by Lee Parks.

Many people will recommend the Keith Code books. Twist of the Wrist II is a pretty good book, and worth reading.

Best of luck!!
