Yea motogp has been a bit boring with people not able to compete. But you have to give credit where it's due, stoner has been racing really well regardless of any advantage he may have.

Was especially disappointed with the last race, rossi, pedrosa, depuniet, and barros. all bikes were finished before the race got even warm. depuniet crash effectively took out hayden and team roberts as well. 6 riders, some that could've been on the podium, knocked out real early.

I like Casey, but I don't think he will dominate next year. There are enough team changes going on throughout the series that will get better riders on bikes that were good...but just didn't have someone who could ride them. As for the last race...yes it was a bit boring...but that is the sort of thing that happens when no one has really ridden that track before (in the current layout anyways).

Next year we will see Tech 3 Yamaha with two decent riders. And they finally are going to ditch Dunlop too!! Look forward to them actually finish in the points and get some tv coverage. Colin will bring good bike development capabilities with him and a certain WSBK rider to be the actual "fast guy" on the team. I am still waiting to see if Chaz Davies will end up on the D'Antin Ducati. I think he would be a great fit for that team. Last I heard, they still have both seats open. Next year should be a better year for close racing. The manufacturers will be able to react to what they have found this year instead of starting from scratch.

Man, they really botched up that series. The 990's made for some really good racing. Most races were interesting.

800's are boring. There hasn't been one great race this year. Assen was interesting but not great. The rest are just like an F1 race, interesting in to the first 3 corners and then it's just a parade.

The 800's were supposed to slow them down and it didn't even accomplish that.

Hopefully it will get better next year.

I'm really new to all things motorcycle (esp. racing) and I gotta say that I'm not thrilled with Moto GP. I was under the assumption that the best in the world were racing (and I'm sure they are) but watching a recorded race today I wasn't impressed. It seems like they have some of the same problems as AMA (lack of competition) and it's hard for me to find someone that I identify with (i.e. an American) to root for. The commentary is a lot better than American racing but the video/audio quality kind of negates that advantage. And their camera angles are a bit...disturbing at times (a shot of "The Doctor" is no fun for me).

So, as much as I'd LIKE to watch Moto GP (and will if there's nothing else on) I think I'll stick to AMA for now. Not a knock on the series just not for me.

I would suggest you check out Wold Superbike and Super Sport. Very close, though with less Americans than Moto GP. As for Moto GP not having many American's, we are actually fairly well supported in that series. They may not be front runners...but they are there. Hayden, Edwards, Roberts (take your pick on which one) and you can count Hopkins for another half.

Now, Moto GP will never be as interesting as it was. The addition of traction and wheelie control have almost eliminated what was fun for a spectator to watch. Sure it has made it more safe for the riders, and that is important...but it is not what it once was. BRING BACK TWO STROKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stoners winning because he's a great rider, he's been the only one that can use the freakishly narrow power band of the Ducati, which is why the Ducati is so fast. Rossi/Yamaha went for a more "rideable" bike with a wide power and they're paying for it.

All the manufs will come up with something incredible next year, we'll see how it turns out. I would expect HRC to come up with a great new bike but only the Repsol team will get it, they've made it clear that the other teams are going to be on much lesser bikes.

Yamaha will have hopefully learned from their mistakes and come up with something better and the Tech3 team should benefit from that as well. Kawi might have a better shot with Hopper, who knows what Capirex will do with the Suzuki

Thanks for the WSBK suggestion. I found a race on my DVR and it was much better IMO than the Moto GP races I've seen as of late. It was easy to pick a guy to root for and the competition was great. It's nice to see that most of the manufacturers were at least competitive.

Also, I think I have to rethink how I view Moto GP. I'd gotten used to seeing production bikes (albeit heavily modified) in the AMA and that has it's own unique appeal. I just have to realize that GP is more like Formula One (in that they're prototype bikes).
