Default frame sliders?

so i cant see back past 2 pages not sure why but anyways here is the question. I went down this weekend during a race and it was my first time going down. now im not freaked out or anything but kinda puzzled as to wether or not to replace my frame slider. it was ripped clean out when i went down. i think i am rather lucky that it didnt rip the threads inside the motor but still kinda disturbing to know that it ripped out. also i started hearing scare stories of how they can actually make your bike flip. so was wondering is it worth it to run them? i saw the damage it did to my frame and it grinded a little bit of it.

what kind of sliders? do they have a good base? made of delrin?

I've had 7+ crashes using vortex sliders and they have always helped, never had any problems with them at all. I've had just about every kind of crash and they've never hinted at bending or breaking off.

had the motivation sliders. i crashed on the right so no bracket it was straight slider to the mount. i wasnt able to recover the slider so i dont know exactly what happened just that it was gone and my had some grinding on it. not sure if it was just a freak accident that it happened or if it was a defect.

I've crash tested my sliders 6-7 times and I've always been glad that they were there. Almost all racers in our club use them. Only once did the single bolt that goes through the motor mounts bend, and that was from a highside.

Definately want to stay away from the metal ones though, they will transmit alot of impact force into a small area of the frame during a crash, the various plastic and rubber type ones would be better as far as less impact transmitted into the frame.

www.woodcraft-cfm.com sliders are big pimpin. I dont have em personally but i know a ton of guys that do who have tested many a slider & almost all of em w/ experience w/ different brands will recommend the woodcrafts.

PS, Jeff & Eric Wood, the guys that run Woodcraft, finished 10th & 12th at VIR this past weekend in AMA FX & Jeff got 9th in Supersport
