Default winterizing ??

Hi what do you do to a track bike to winterize? Cleary i take out battery put fuel stabalizer in tank but about the coolant, mines water wont it freeze and bust a hose?

Yes it will freeze in the great white north.. down here in the desert we don't have that problem.

I would drain and fill with antifreeze, but then you will have to flush it when next season starts.

no lol were not winter right now but it gets cold here and i dont think ill be doing track days anymore this year

Since the race org I race with (CCS) allows us to use Non-Aqueous Propylene Glycol (NPG) that's what I use. I just drained the system completely and replaced it with NPG and ta-da, I never have to do a thing with it again! Plus on top of all that the brand I use doesn't begin to boil till 370* and doesn't freeze till way below anti-freeze, can you say no fan and never boiling over!

Damn...personally glad we won't be "winterizing" down here for another...4-5 months if at all.

As far as doing it...yeah what the other guys said.

Just leave the bike running all winter then you won't have to do anything.

My 1st race bike got retired from racing the year I forgot to drain the water out of it and didn't realize it till we already had some 28* nights, sure enough it popped the freeze plugs in the head, but luckily it was salvagable! This was also the same time I switched to using Evans NPG in my bikes.
