First track day...
Ok, I had my first track day a while back. Havn't had a chance to post it up. As soon as I got back I went to Vegas for a wedding, then to Germany for three weeks. So here it is.
I went to a Ducati track day, where all brands were welcomed. I went to MAM (Mid American Motorplex). A really great track for newbies as myself. I had a blast. I would have to say the most fun part of it was passing 600cc, 1000cc bikes on my little SV650. Since it was a Ducati day there were a a lot of Ducs, taking the same track school as I. And even a BMW
Since I was faster then everyone and passing everyone in the turns, then as soon as the straights came up they passed me. I was upgraded to the slow/medium group. But because of weather I wasn't able to ride in the group. As soon as I was upgraded it started to rain a little. Then lighting, and thunder. They closed the couse down, and waited it out. It rained really hard for a little bit, and the winds were strong. After they re-opened I decited not go to. I was tired from corner working the previous three days... I had a great time and can't wait till I can go back. Sometime later this month I'm shooting for. Well I got one picture, thats the only one taken of me, but its good. Here it is, have fun everyone, and stay safe...

Does corner working get you a discount or something? I was just wondering because I am trying to gather as much info as possible for when I can finally go.
Thats a good pic. Probably could have had your knee down there if you would have put it out a little further.

I know MSR/LSTD, (Texas) lets you work up credits by being a corner worker...
I think most places do...

I don't get a discount for corner working... I couldn't care less, I love corner working, its the best spot to watch the races, and you get paid for it.. usally not much. Like when I was at MAM the three days before my track day I was only paid $150, plus lunch. It different at every track you go to, then its different for every sponser too... Like To Road America next weekend. They were asking for peoples help for corner working. So I signed up, but they kicked me off and said they had enough... They were giving $225 a DAY!!! Then FREE HOTEL ROOMS BREAKFAST LUNCH, and DINNER if we worked late (which is almost everytime... I was so pissed. But its ok, I'm still going to watch the races. You never know, they might need some help

Yea, the last owner put them on, then I found out they weren't stock SV bars, so I had to mess with them a little bit... I can pull them back a little but not much, its ok though. I'm going to sell my street SV650 and buy another race SV650 I know a guy is selling. Then later I'll sell the one in the picture.

I like the bars a bit straighter...just like the ones you have.
I'd adjust mine...but they are stock.

Warning rant...ignore....
IMO...the bars should be almost...parallel to the windscreen...more comfortable..less stress not having to bend the wrist.
And the high speed drag would be negligent. This is not a land speed record attempt at the Salt Flats in Utah. Jeez...

I will be there racing myself in the Heavyweight classes, I'm really looking forward to it! This will probably be a record setting event with the most entries ever for a CCS race event. I'm guessing there will probably be numerous 80 rider grids, I've been in 80 rider races before, defenitely interesting to say the least.
Of all the races in 2007 to be racing in, this will be the one for regional racers from thruout the country - should be alot of great racing all 3 days long!

What you really need are ape hangers to reduce the stress on your wrists. I'm doing it on my bike this weekend. Profound wisdom is so abundant lately... sometimes it makes me want to cry.
