On The TrackHad a trackday, a good or bad day at the track? Want to get started racing? Just like racing? Cmon insde and post questions, results or comments.
I am relatively new on this forum and I'd like to both introduce myself to the racers corner and inform you guys (and gals) about the news I found on speedtv.com. It appears that Moto GP is officially headed to Indianapolis in 2008!!!
I think this is both great for the sport and for its growth in the US market. I have been a moto GP fan for about 3 years now and it is literally the only sport I really enjoy watching. I hope you guys found this interesting/informative. See you around
how is that official? speed saw MotoGP officials visiting the track, nobody has made an announcement yet. Some sources are saying its a done deal, some are saying they haven't found a date that both parties can agree upon. Its very likely that it will soon be a done deal but that little article is far from official...
There are still rumors about the whole thing.
Bernie operates Istanbul and has been complaining about low attendance. So he wants to shut it down... don't know if Indy would be the replacement of that and how deep the discussions are but it would be a stupid move if they decide to MOVE from Laguna to Indy.
The U.S. needs all the road course, (i.e. less oval NASCAR BS) cycle and car races it can get.
Hopefully, this WILL happen.
As for the infield...read my signature.

Mickey mouse? Infield being developed at night? ;)
No offense, but I think wth the resources and cash inflows available to them, they should not make it yet another track, but try and make it as technical as the ones in Europe if they really want to make an impression. The Indy, after all is world famous!
In fact, the Indy guys are worried that they won't fill the stands and are thinking about not hosting the race...I'm going to bed and too tired to try and find the link, but http://superbikeplanet.com/newind.htm/ has the info about them getting nervous somewhere in their recent archives...

I slept all day...and am now awake...in the middle of the night...(thank God for vacations).
It doesn't surprise me that Tony, Indy is second guessing themselves.
The average Joe six pack U.S. racing fan is a complete and utter fucking moron.
They have no idea the technical side and riding and driving skills required in Moto GP, AMA, Formula 1...etc.
So...we stick half ass drivers in Dodge sedan's...run them around in a circle for maximum car sponsorship logo air-time.
Sorry...but the racing scene in the U.S. is piss poor and after years...still pisses me off.

Well well, whatddaya know. more people need exposure to MotoGp and this would be the *perfect* opportunity. Should be interesting!

The series is MotoGP, the international road racing equivalent of Formula One. MotoGP has an 18-race schedule with its U.S. Grand Prix held annually in Monterey, Calif.
This would be awsome!! And It will probly be happening as well. Cause the Turkish GP might not be happening next year so Im sure they will want another round somewhere....
