Default The most fun I've ever had on a motorcycle in years:

Was the CCS Supertwins race last Saturday at the Loudon Classic weekend. I race an SV, but anyone who races a twin is able to enter Supertwins. This race was my good friends "bread and butter" when he raced his Tuono, and there are a lot of other 1000cc twins that enter.

Anyways, I started in the second wave in the first row (amateur) right behind Eric Wood on a Ducati NCR1000. Got a decent start and got the holeshot, but my main competition (Wayne) was right behind me. The first few laps we both pulled away from the pack. From here on in it was just me and him, racing each other. We swapped the lead 5 times in the last 6 laps, and I ended up winning by 0.3 seconds. When we both pulled into the pits we had grins ear to ear. I asked Wayne how close he was to me for the times he was behind me, and he said he was less than five feet the entire time. I figured as much since when I looked back I couldn't see him, but I sure could hear him. Regardless, I had a serious adrenaline rush for at least 30 minutes after- which felt better than any drug I have ever done.

This is the reason I go to the track to race, I sure did get my return on investment for the race entry fee. It's a great feeling when you have to work your ass off for a win, much better than leading flag to flag.

Also, I got second in Lightweight Supersport. That makes two firsts and two second place finsishes this year, so I'm still leading that championship as well as Thunderbikes. Just wanted to post and say how much my mind isn't in "work mode" this Monday afternoon (I think I'm gonna cut out early and go for a ride )

Congrats. I've yet to feel that feeling. I miss my old twin (TLR... what a pig). I know you SV guys have a lot of fun. Makes me want to get one.

Congrats Mantis. I wish I had the time/money for something other than track days/street riding. But who knows...maybe in the future.

Wow, that sounds awesome. It honestly makes me want to go out racing. Maybe next year I'll be good enough...

NICE dude, congrats on the win.

Sorry I couldn't find ya again. How come ya didn't race Thunderbike on Sunday? My buddy Brian Oxx ended up w/ the win over my other friend Ryan Hobbs, they had a pretty good battle, too. Just TWO tenths of a second separating them at the finish line!

Normally my buddy Brian can't race Thunderbike normally cuz he works on Saturday.... but that's good news for you, cuz he's running 21's My buddy Chris Orcutt is in that race though. Maybe you know him. he's doin 24's & 25's.

Hmm... I was doing 25's & 24's before I ended up on the sidelines... Maybe I should do a thunderbike's race or two when i come back & try to give you fits in the corners

Dude, Orcutt is a good buddy of mine also. He and I had a very close call in practice on Saturday morning. And Oxx? Ask him about the battles we have had in the past. I had to leave early Sunday for a Father's day get-together at my folks house.

An SBN thunderbikes battle? I'm in!!

My first race, I gridded up in last place, second wave Amat. and I finished dead last. I was so pumped and excited that I actually finished!!! I felt like I just won the lottery. I think I finished first that day if it was a contest to see who can have the most fun!!

Nice, IMO the start is the most exciting part of the race in most cases. Three times this year I have holeshotted from the last row, moving through 4-5 rows of riders to lead into turn one. That always gets my adrenaline going.

Well shit dude, come over to our pits next race weekend & ask him if he knows where I'm at. I spend most of my time over in 1a with those guys.

Wanted to add that this nice weather is killing my work productivity. I can't go more than 30 minutes without coming up with a reason I shouldn't leave work and go riding.
