As far as I know, yes. The small 8in zipper most jackets come with won't cut it.

I'll move this to get a firm answer

Thanks.

I was trying to get away with another jacket that I liked styling more, but I think I will be requiring a perforated leather jacket anyways, so this will be the best match (this one has a 360 degree zipper):

you can have a 360 zipper installed on ANY jacket for a pretty minimal cost.... it's usually like 20 bucks at most leatherworking places....

and pants come with both halves of the zipper. So if a jacket you like is race quality leather, but has only an 8" zipper, you can probably add a 360 one as well, when you get the pants you want.

I was going to say the same thing as Kevin.

Just about every track req. that I have looked at require a full zipper with the exception of some beginner levels.

I don't think it's up to each track, but more dependent on the orginization putting on the track event.

Having said that - get the full zipper!! Why take shortcuts on safety? ;-)

Both tracks in my state allow 8" and 10" zippers.

I had to pay $30 have the other half of my Joe Rocket full zipper put on the Frank Thomas Strik pants I have. The pants didnt come with the other 1/2 of the zipper and they were diff size zippers but it works good they way they sewed it.
