Default Rossi vs. Schumacher?

got in an argument today about which was quicker aroung a track like laguna seca or anything but an oval, which would be faster a superbike(race) with Rossi on it, or Micheal Schumacher in his F1 car? this might be a stupied question i have no idea. it would be fun to watch though.

Well I did a little research and could not find a single time that a bike was faster than a F1 car. Here are a couple examples. Michael Schumacher fast lap on silverstone from 2005 season -1.21.934/ Valentino Rossi- 1.45.377
Turkey- Michael Schumacher- 1.26.991/ 2006 Fastest lap,Toni Elias- 1.52.877

those F1 cars are just insanely fast

lol I dunno, I'm not sure who's bigger but my guess is that Schumacher is a little bigger. I'd bet on Schumacher.

Rossi on his M1 vs. Schumacher in his Ferrari F1 racer (whatever it's called) will always have the Ferrari finishing first BUT the bike is more fun to operate....(that's Checa (not Rossi) in the picture).

The downforce of the cars makes a huge difference.

The Ferrari F1 would win hands down. Bikes are fast, but f1 cars are comparable to fighter jets.

off the line acceleration, the M1 will win... top end acceleration and cornering the Ferrari will win. Aerodynamics and enormous contact patch is what give the F1 cars the edge. A Motorcycle only has a contact patch the size of your palm in the rear & about the size of three fingers in the front... ONE TIRE on an F1 car will have a contact patch about 3-4 inches from front to back & practically 2 feet wide. Add to that the downforce and lower CG & those things friggin WHIP around corners despite the added weight.

I don't think anything can touch an F1 car. But I read an article in Road and Track's Speed magazine where Doug Chandler raced his ZX10R superbike against a race-prepped Nissan Skyline and beat it by 10 seconds. He also raced his stock ZX6R against a Corvette ZO6 and beat it by over ten seconds. The stock ZX6R also beat the Skyline by about four seconds.
The staffers at Road & Track had bet on the cars and were quite surprised to say the least.

F1 car all the way. More than 2G lateral acceleration and 4G+ when braking.

Oh, and they make about 700 HP and weigh about 1300 lbs. That is with the V8's in them this year. Last year's 10 cylinders made about 850-900 HP.

Even in straight line acceleration, there is no guarantee a MotoGp bike would win. Depends on the gearing of the car, and the launch systems on some of them, like the Renaults, are phenomenal.

What impressed me the most is watching those cars handle the Swimming pool corner at Monaco. It was like watching slot cars go through a set of corners. Just incredible.

The amount of grip those type of cars have is the very reason the racetracks get so tore up and have to get patches in the corners, all that cornering load has got to go somewhere.

Imagine if it had been a GSXR 1000, the time difference would have been even greater than it was with that slow Ducati

I don't know, Rossi is such a little guy. He reminds me of a monkey. Schumacher is much bigger
