I learned this weekend that JB Weld is good to fix a hole in a ground down engine side cover. Make sure that you have some gasket maker too.

No problem, glad it worked out for you ... I was questioning how well the jb weld would hold up with not much time to set .. was it jb quick or regular jb weld ?

Just the regular JB Weld. The thing that helped was that I set it on the dash board in the sun. It wasn't a very warm day but it was warmer in the truck and the cover got really warm with the sun on it.

Uhg .. tommorow I get to test out the jb welded alternator cover myself ... I so very much dislike the rain.

well zip ties are a given .. hell I use them even when I'm not rushing to get my bike back together

Jb weld and bondo , can fix a torn gas tank. Safety wire , its better for repairs than zip ties. Duct tape , work wonders on everything else.
