What is the proper break in to take a brand new bike and send it straight to the track other than safety requirements?

It all depends on what track you go to...Some tracks are more strict than others...
Minimum...
1. Tape up any lights...
2. Remove blinkers.
3. Replace coolant with engine ice/water wetter
4. Remove kickstand
5. Remove mirrors
6. Tape down tire weights
6. (for you, remove peg feelers )
I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but it's a good start...
THanks bro! And what about breaking the bike in? Do 1k miles on the street then convert it to the track?

I usually do 50 - 100 miles on the street then straight to the track and WFO!!!!!!
There is so much theory out there on what is best for longevity vs. what is best for Horsepower. I was told by someone many years ago to break it in like your going to be riding it. Conventional oil vs. Synthetic during break-in is another heavily disputed topic, but I was taught to always use conventional oil during break-in. Keeping below a certain RPM during break-in is another one, but even with no real break-in on my '96 GSXR 750 the bike was still running very strong after 6000 race only miles when I stopped racing it.

What you just read is my opinion and is based on my experiences and the info I have acquired during my life, it's my interpretation and isn't written in stone. Yes, I post long responses regularly because I like to fully explain my views. Don't like it or agree with what I have to say? Then don't read it or respond to it! Respond like an immature idiot to posts of mine and I will just ignore you. Have a nice day.

Thanks bro! Just the person I was hoping would answer this I knew you took one straight to the track and wasn't sure if there was a certain way to do it or not I had AIM open hoping to catch you there to ask

Actually what convinced me was a guy who's building turbo and NO2 Busa's for dragracing and street. When he's having bikes delivered to him from out of state to do the work on them and all the research he's done. I trust him, not the above link.
Call him and talk to him, it's not my bike, It doesn't matter to me how you break yours in. I'm only concerned about my application. Sorry, a spade is a spade. http://www.ecsdyno.com/

On a side note. Consider this. Does anybody honestly think the manufacturer DIDN'T start the motor and run it for a specific period of time before it was put into the frame to make sure it wasn't going to blow up? The motor is mostly broken in before it was put on a ship.

I would break mine in the way I would ride it. Hard.
on Joe's Gix, we took it home. He rode it nice for about 3 miles. Ran it WFO for about 3 miles, came home and changed the oil. Been fine ever since. You could say it was broke in like 10 miles.

Korisa...RIP, I'll miss you my friend. Always.

Sorry, guess I read the question wrong
Racer Mike said it all...I'll just add a little...
Some will tell you follow the manufacturers guidelines...No RPM above 6 grand before 500 miles...
Some say take it from the showroom floor and ride it like you stole it...The argument is that it seals the O-rings better...
I did the manufacturer idea with my wifes 1000RR, but I've personally seen a friend take his new Gix 1K out the day he bought it, and ran it wide open all that day...
Wifeys RR still running strong as all, as is my buddies Gixxer...And he's had it over 2 years now...
The oil thing is another hot topic...I say go with regular oil until about 1500 miles, then convert...
