^ +1 on the suspension.
My suspenders are SHOT... rear shock especially.
Bike moves around too much on the track, have to be really smooth especially over bumpy parts of the track.
Overall the bike is a GREAT track bike.
Easy to go fast on.

If you are doing this on a budget...as most of us do...here is the way I would approch it.
1) proper fork springs and a fresh rebuild (replace valving if money allows) and a
rear shock rebuild
2) good quality rear sets, I personally would go to Woodworking tools, supplies, plans, projects, accessories, articles and more - Woodcraft.com
3) braided brake lines and a good set of pads, my pad preference is SBS Race
Sintered
4) spare parts like case covers, levers, pegs
5) quality race plastics, a good set will save you in the long run
I am on the fence when it comes to frame sliders. There is a 50/50 chance for more damage to be done with them on. If they catch, the bike can start to flip. I have two friends that have had that problem. There actually would have been 75% less damage if they would not have flipped. My latest crash was on my 07 ZX-6R. I had not put sliders on it, and the damage is very minimal. I low sided at 100+ mph. The bike and I went sliding across the track, through the grass, and into a tire wall. I broke my arm...but the bike is still very much ridable. If it would have caught and flipped, I fear that it would be a total loss...and it more than likely would have done major damage to me in the process.
