When you say suspension, you mean aftermarket completely adjustable coilovers?

The stock suspension on sportbikes is very similar to the aftermarket performance suspension, and stock sportbike suspension (in the last decade or more) can even be modified in many cases to improve it (though it may not be quite as good as the true performance aftermarket stuff).

Most aftermarket performance shocks for example have a length adjuster for changing the rear ride height of the bike independent of changing anything else about the shock. Rear ride height alone can change how a bike handles by quite a bit, it's a great example of the domino effect of what changing one thing does to numerous other aspects of the bike. Rear ride height is just one of the variables of bike set-up, throw in all the other variables and you can be overwhelmed rather easily without guidance of some type.

The nice thing is you can have a bike set-up correctly and pretty much leave it alone for the most part till you start to get really fast, then your usually making adjustments of some type or another at each track to dial the bike in for the best handling.

What you just read is my opinion and is based on my experiences and the info I have acquired during my life, it's my interpretation and isn't written in stone. Yes, I post long responses regularly because I like to fully explain my views. Don't like it or agree with what I have to say? Then don't read it or respond to it! Respond like an immature idiot to posts of mine and I will just ignore you. Have a nice day.
