What's your monthly track budget?
I'm talking EVERYTHING.....Track fees, tires, gas for the bike, gas for the car/truck, hotels (if you use them), food/drink, spares, anything else that is related.
I do about one-two track days a month, and depending if anything breaks and how I treat my tires, I end up spending between $600-$1000 a month. Kinda a big variation, but that's normally how it goes.
Just wondering if I'm on par with everyone else. I don't get many hookups on stuff, I sell my race takeoffs to people though (although it's a limited market on the skinny ass tires I use on my RS250), and I get free tire changes and suspension setup, but other than that everything comes out of pocket.

Roughly the same amount here. Two days a month but overall cost depending on the track.

Maybe the other junkies don't want to confront their own spending habit.

Sort of on topic here:
My track addiction is also one (of many) reason I'm staying in Europe. Not because the tracks here are better than the US (we've got awesome track and shitty tracks here too, although none as bad as Pacific Raceways in Seattle ). I make about double what an E-3 in the states makes, just because of cost of living allowance. So as long as I hang around in Europe I'll be making plenty of money to support my habit. Just a comment.

Yes, it is an expensive hobby, but most people even working part time should be able to afford a track day or two a year, but then again, I'm single, few bills, and no debt, so I don't really have any expenses and I make decent money over here like I said before.

2~3 trackdays a month if they're available. It's hard to find a trackday hosted on the weekends, but when they're available, I try to be there. Hotel, tires, food, gas will probably come out to about $900~$1000/month depending on where I go. Willow springs raceway is about $120~$135/day, and I'm thinking about doing Laguna Seca next year which will probably be in the $300+ range/day. I can get 2~3 trackdays out of a set of take offs, so that equals about a set, or two at most a month. I'm thinking about getting my race license down the line so I can race the novice class in WSMC next year. We'll see how it goes since I'm working and going to school while trying to support this addiction.

Yeah the bucks sure can fly. I have a 14 yo that is doing it also. Roebling cost me about $850+ and that didn't get us tires. VIR a couple weeks earlier was about $6-700 then toss another $380 cause my travel trailer wheel snapped off and I had to have it toed 175 miles home. I wanna do Barber in the spring and that will be about better than $900 with tires and camping out in the tent. For me, trying to get 2 good days out of a set of tires is ruff. I need to do some suspension work on the 250 and a shock is $285 or $385, forgot. It still needs a few more mods after that. Need a few more the the REX also. Never thought I'd be spending the money I have for bikes and junk the last 2 and half years. Good thing I got free tickets to the Super Bike races in Atlanta tomorrow!!!!!

You may be right!
I was doing track days once a month, sometimes on both Saturday and Sunday. I recently started racing so I could get even more track time. Good thing with racing is I can now ride at a track that is 20 minutes from my house that rarely offers open track days except to licensed racers and I get to ride at more tracks.
Without adding up my receipts for each weekend, I'd say the average is somewhere near $800. That is for the track I usually go to, 350 miles away so the gas, tolls, and motel adds to the expense.

I usually spend about 500.00 a month, but I am cheap and buy used tires, stay in flea bag hotels and actually only eat when I am coming home (to excited on the way there). The two tracks in new mexico are only 80-100 bucks, but now the one in Phoenix....179.00! for a full day...I dont go there often LOL.

we just finished our team budget for next year on 3 riders and 20 events. It totaled 43,000 bucks in worst case scenario (no wins) no tire contingency or anything just straight race costs
So for us losing is not an option. We need all the contingency we can get
