Default Tip sensor w/race fairing?

Hello all,
I have an 03 f4i that is becoming my track bike. I was curious if I should keep the tip sensor or discard of it? Also If I keep it where do I mount it and if I ditch it how do I bypass it to make the bike think its there? I know there is someone out there with a f4i race bike.

Thanks
Patrick

you have to keep it. I zip tied my tip over sensor right behind my speedo on the fair stay.

I think if you remove it the bike wont start or something. I have heard rumors of people having that thing trip while mid turn and their engine turning off. Some of the Gixxer people fill it with epoxy so it doesnt trip.

I would hate to be mid turn rolling on the throttle only to have the engine just die. Im glad my FZR doesnt have one.

Well i figured out which wires i need to jump to make the bike start without it. Is there a reason it needs to be there other than for the bike to start?

Thanks,
Patrick

This year I'm racing my 3rd GSXR and I've never had a problem with it, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. I believe there is some reason you can't remove it on the GSXR and that's why some fill it with epoxy to stop it from tripping. The purpose for it is to kill the engine in the event that you drop the bike and you happen to be tangled up in a wheel or the chain.

It really is a nice safety feature, however, from what I have heard it can trip even when the bike is not lying on its side. For all out race use, I would fill it. For street/track use, I would keep it stock.
