But I would rather have a bike with a nice chassis with shitty engine anyday.

If your still set on buying a Ninja250, I installed an SV650 shock on mine last night with a few mods to it. You need the bushing out of the 250 shock to install on the 650 shock. Bottom needs to be redrilled, but not too hard of a job if ya have the right tools. I already have RT springs in it and will have to drop the center stand for the track. Side stand already gone. It's not much on power and the handling isn't really bad. If your over 200, your gonna be pushing it. Throttle response on those things kinda sucks. Back off at high rpm's and come back into the throttle is a slow response. CAn vary bike to bike. They need some carb tweaking. Once you get going, they go great in the corners. They're a WFO bike on the track. Pirelli makes the MT75 which is a pretty good tire for half the cost of regular tires. ABout $130 delivered for a set. CAn get a few track days out of them, but after that the front end gets the cupping and it'll start giving you the shimmy in the corners. You can go a little lite on the steering with the hands and "body steer" and it takes some of the shake away. I flip my tires anyways. Great little bike off the track also. Gas milage is in the high 50's is your not thrashing it. That shock cost me $25 delivered off ebay by the way.

i bought both of mine from a guy for 10k with enough spares to last me 2 seasons...and crash every race weekend. lol. you can find them for 4 grand give or take.

the tz is the bike to win with because you cant get reliable power out of the aprilia. this past weekend at buttonwillow i was in 3rd place from the hole shot and right on 2nd places ass until the straight towards 3. i pulled htem back in threw 3-3a-4 but after that they just checked out. after 4 its a very fast section of the track and the tz's just ran away down the straights. i was slowly picked off by the tz's down that back wide open section. i passed for fifth place on the last corner of the last lap. my dad said i was at least 20 yards ahead coming out of the corner and he motored by me like it was nothing and even waved on his way by that was only my 3rd race and second time at buttonwillow so there is more speed to come. but being down 20 horse hurts big time.
oh yeah, first novice and first aprilia to finish

with either purcahse, im sure you will be happy. i just know you'll have more fun on the aprilia rock solid in stock form too. i know people who rebuild it once a season. just gotta make sure not to over rev the thing...or weld the crank.
