I always get confused with tires. The Pirelli Diablo Corsa is a street/track day tire that won't really heat cycle up since it's designed for both correct? The Pirelli supercorsa is a DOT race tire that will heat cycle up and turn hard correct?
Now, with Michelins, the Pilot race H2 is like the diablo corsa right. It can be run repeatedly without turning hard. I see a lot of people using this tire on the road and I wondered about that. The michelin M2 and S2 are like the Pirelli supercorsa sc2 and sc1 respectively correct?
Is that pretty much right or am I off base somewhere?

They are indescribably supperior. The amount of confidence they give you is actually pretty dangerous!
I ran my first track day on dunlop 208s. By the 2nd day, I was spinning the rear too much, and sliding from what felt like a greasy tire. I then went with the diablos and noticed improvement, however, I got faster, fast. The diablos started to just not feel right, started to feel kind of greasy again and loose. The Corsas were an improvement again. However, I then tried the Michelins and it was night and day difference.
The thing I like most about the michelins, is their predictable. Atleast for me they are. I know when they are going to start sliding, I know how much I can ride on them while sliding, and they will tell me when it is time to throw another set on.
I have yet to feel the front slide on me with the Michelins too. That S2 front is nasty! (in a good way!)
Oh ya, I have yet to try them in their brand new state! All this on take offs. The take offs are vastly supperior than the other ones in their brand new state. Right now I am to the point where I am too fast to use the take offs. SUCKS! Cuz now I am going to have to dish out the big $$ for new ones and probably some tire warmers to get some more laps out of them!

That's a nice write up. Makes me want to try the S2/M2 combo for my next set. I'm not sure how much I'll like the taller profile of the Michelins, but they sound like a great tire from your write up. A friend of mine runs the H2 front/back on his 954 and he swears by them. I'll have to try them out.

I don't feel comfortable about having the H2 on the front. May just be me and because of where I ride.
The taller profile is great. Turns in really nice! Just remember that you may have to adjust your front fender. Also if your bike was set for the 60 serries, you may have to raise the front end slightly to get the geometry of the bike back. I forgot to adjust my front fender and half a lap later it was flying away in the distance! I never adjusted the front end either and the bike is riding on rails! So until I find a reason too, I won't.

I run my Corsa's at 30 or 31 on the track....I loved them...hugged the pavement like glue and they hug the street too--that psi is 36 or 37....no problems with them so far so no reason for me to change them out

So you only adjusted your front fender for clearance for the taller profile 70, and it feels fine?

Metzeler RennSports RS2 gone through at least 3 sets and can't bring myself to even consider trying something else. PSI 30-32 and 31-33. I was just up at Deals Gap for a week and got a flat in the back I had no choice but to use a Metzeler SPortec M1 and I was really impressed with how well it did!

Michelin slicks, sometimes medium compound, mostly soft though.

BTW, for those who had problems with the Diablo Corsas turning in, you may want to consider lower your front by 5mm.

I guess there is no doubt you get your 5 track days on a set of tires, but with my bike and others I know, getting past a 2nd trackday is pushing it. Only once have I run a tire a second day and that's because I had a low mileage day. I guess I have to say your one lucky person!!! Wish I could pull it off. Tires are worse to buy than the trackdays.

All I can say is check your tire pressures. The Diablo Corsas are not especially sensitive to tire pressure, but require higher pressures than race tires.
I ran 32F/34R, but am thinking of going to 33F/35R although Pirelli recommends 34F/36R.
Also, dropping the forks will help in handling.
It isn't just me getting more days out of the Diablo Corsas. Check out the NESBA board for testimonials.

I'll have mine after the 2nd....haha!!! VIR
Was just hoping someone else had tried them. Sure is funny reading all the opinions on tires. So hard to suggest a tire to someone when one person is in love with a tire another person wouldn't put it on a bike if it was the only tire left....LOL!!! To each his own I guess.

Hell, I don't even trust my tires after 4 track days, and I'm on a 250. I might try to go 5 on the set I have now, but I dunno, that's pushing it for any bike.
