Never ever use a torque wrench on anything below 30-40 ft/lb. Before this I stripped the rear caliper.
Come see me the next time you need torque set below your number here. I do it all the time on all kinds of different bikes. Your torque wrench may be defective? Sorry for your misfortune.

I was wearing my cotech hrx jacket, blaster gloves, oxtar boots, back protector, Hjc helmet, and some blue jeans. all of it is scuffed up except for the gloves. the hard plastic armor on the exterior of the jackets shoulder looks like it was used as a knee slider. the boots toes are scraped up, and the outside of the right boot has the plastic ankle protector ground down a little. helmet has some skuffs on the back of it. gloves seemed to have never touched the ground. the jacket did a damn good job of saving my shoulder. its not sore at all, and it was the first part to hit the ground. overall, my gear did a good job . I got pretty lucky that I wasn't seriously injured.
sound like your gear held up about like mine. minus the padding on the but of the jeans. Nice thing is you did not cause your off.
ON a side bar I was rideing back from clarksville looking at a 1 pc leather suite for 400 too small for me. When a jeep ran over a 3 foot piece of tire and sent it in the air. came down beside me thru the grill of a town car. can I say lucky.. one lane over and I would have wished for a brush guard on my bike.
Glad your ok geoff
