Default win xp logon screen assistance

during the course of the class i was taking, i was instructed to add and start IIS on my computer and after that, my logon options changed from the typical XP logon (without having to type in the username, password, etc.). it now asks me to type in the username, password, and domain (the first attachment).

now that my class is over, i want the old logon but i can't get it to revert back. i've stopped the IIS service and removed IIS and still no change.

any ideas?

Probably just changing it it back over to a workgroup should work. Hit winlogo key + break key. Under computer name tab hit the change button and make it a workgroup.

Also make sure to disable secure login on the advanced tab (require ctrl+alt+del to login) by going to run and typing "control userpasswords2"

After all that, if it doesn't work, go to the regular user control panel and change it should have an option to change the login screen. You can't do this when you are part of a domain, so I can't check on my computer.

coronadozx,

1) Go into your control panal and click on "users."

2 Delete the ASP.net development acct. and keep the "Welcome" screen checked.

Your computer will go directly to the desktop without having to log on to Windows. I had the same problem and this resolved the situation. Try it and let us know if it worked. Plus, hint-hint... I could use some casino cash.

Well I thought in the first post you mentioned joining a domain, so my bad. Glad you got it going.
We have a really old novell server here at work along with our domain I setup. Trying to get our logins to work automatically with the novell client and windows was a real pain in the ass. No one here wanted to type in their passwords.
