Question Router help-- cannot set WEP

I have a Linksys wrt54g router.

While trying to mess with some stuff to fix another issue, I created a new problem.

To make a long story short, I had to reset the router to factory settings. I had to re-do a bunch of setup stuff-- very basic. Then when I tried to enable WEP, it would not allow it.

I would click on 'save settings' after entering a personal WEP key, and the page would not refresh and the connection would be lost as if the router weren't distributing a signal any more.

Any suggestions?

All I want to do is have some protection in the router by enabling a WEP.

I also need to figure out how to change the user i.d. from "admin" to whatever I want. I was able to create my own password but no i.d.

Wow. I may have found an answer. I'll try what this site says and post up results in case anybody else needs it.
