Default Spyware.CyberLog-X Spyware Trojan Help!

I think its called Spyware.CyberLog-X. It pops up on the tray icons on the bottom right hand of the screen. Every 30 seconds or so I will get a message that says "Your computer is infected, Download the antispyware software here" Which is from the trojan. I ran highjackthis and deleted everything that came up and it still is happening. Is there a certain file I need to look for? Thanks for any help.

Nope, i couldn't find all the files that someone had listed.

It hasn't gotten any worse, kinda living with it now till I can get a new computer. This one is about 4yrs old and could use an upgrade, but I would like to fix it as it make the computer run really slow sometimes.

I don't have this virus or tried this procedure, but maybe this can help you guys.

Remove Spyware and Adware - Spyware.Cyberlog-X

Spyware.Cyberlog-X procedures requires technical know-how on computer troubleshooting. It is better to consult your LAN Administrator or Technical Persons to avoid additional damage on your computer if modifications on Services and Registry have to be done.

MANUAL REMOVAL:

1. Temporarily disable System Restore (Windows Me/XP). [how to]

2. Download Free AVG AntiVirus and save it to a desired location.

3. After downloading, browse where the file was saved and double click to install it.

4. After installation, connect to internet and download all necessary updates.

5. Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) and save it to a desired location. Please print the procedure as we have to close browser later.

6. Reboot your computer in SafeMode [how to]

7. Run AVG and do a thorough scan. Delete all infected files.

8. Close AVG and other open Applications.

9. Run and follow the SmitfraudFix procedure you have printed earlier.

10. You may now reboot in normal mode if it does not reboot automatically.

11. In order to make sure that Spyware.Cyberlog-X is completely eliminated from your computer, carry out a full scan of your computer using Online Virus Scanner. Scan at least on three different scanners.

Thanks for the steps Fast, I couldn't even do the first step because the trojan was disabling it but I was finally able to get rid of it. I though I would post it for Rascus incase he wanted to try it.

First I DL'ed CCleaner. This get rid of temperary files that the trojan is hiding in.
Then I DL'ed SuperAntiSpyware.

Went into safe mode and ran both of the programs. So far its been good for about a day with nothing registering in hijack this.
