Ok ,so we started an ATV club in our "city" in hopes of getting more riding time. Now the problem is our website guy doesn't do any updated and won't even answer Emails anymore. Our problem is the porn links on the forum part of the site. Guy that set it up says he can't do anything. Does anybody know what we can do? Can anybody hack into it and get me the pass words to at least change the meeting dates an the first page? Hope the link doesn't get me in trouble www.qwatvclub.com

If you have acees to the hosting control panel you can simply change the password to the administrator account to log in.

Easy way tp prevent spam, verifiy each user. I have a forum with 10k users and it takes less than 30 minutes a week to verify users and get them going. No spam.

Where do I find any of that? I am a moderator but can only delete posts from what I done so far. I'm pulling my hair out because I can't even get a response from our administator. Even phone calls asking if some of other volunteers could do it have not got a return from him.:

must be done in the programing. you will need the control panel login information for the website itself. In the administration panel look for General Configuration -> Account Activation. Set it to User.
then added a tricky question to the registration form, like how much is 3+5 and add a code snippet to the php that will verify it.


but you will need the administrator username and password for cPanel. talk to whoever built your website to give you that information

Thanks for the help everybody. We delete porn links every day twice a day. I like porn as much as any sicko , but it really shouldn't be on an ATV site like this.

If you are having that much trouble with your hosting service, you problem isn't technical. What you need to do is host your site somewhere else.

He's talking about his forum issues. Hosting has nothing to do w. it. You need to do a VIP Code mod on the phbbb forum. That will cut down alot on robot spammers and also implement the email verification process.
