Default Microsoft Windows Vista

I bought a new laptop and I hate this fucking program. I can't find anything. But my biggest deal is that I apparently don't have word and excel, both of which I need for work. Is it as easy as buying the office r works suite and intalling it or is there a specific version for this crap.

I'm sure my attitude will change as I play with it some more.

My freaking photos don't even go in the same place.

Any Vista "tricks" would be appreciated. Also I need an antivirus/anti-spyware. I had spysweeper on my old laptop and it worked great. anyone got any other suggestions.

Sorry for the ran, but damn, I spend $800 on something and, well........ yuo know.

First, thanks for the response.

If I don't like vista, can I take it off my computer and have xp installed without screwing up my computer? I know if I can do that, then the MS Office stuff is easy.

Thanks again

If you have an XP install disk you can format the computer and install XP. Just remember to do all the updates for it afterwards.

I'm not a Vista fan either.

you will need to format your drive completly before windows xp will install. all traces of vista must be gone.. but it is possible and no you would not damage your computer other then all the data on it would be gone

You will get used to vista, if your computer can run it with no issues, meaning you have enough CPU and RAM, keep it, it has some nifty features once you get used to it.

My laptop came with it, i was going to chance back to XP, but after a week I noticed that although XP is lighter and I still like it more, it isnt worth the trouble.

If you're looking for a cost effective office productivity suite, I'll be the first to suggest Open Office, www.openoffice.org.

BTW, great idea on XP. Vista sucks.

I just got my new laptop with Vista Home Premium.

Check out a site called vistatweaks.com

Once I deVistafied Vista I actually like it.
