computer does not boot... from anything

So my computer was in full working order and apparently it got a virus that corrupted the system boot files. After the message said to insert a repair disc it wouldn't boot from the CD ROM drive... even after I unplugged the harddrive it wouldn't boot from a disc after I manually told it to do so. Any suggested advice or possible causes of said problem? Thanks

first you need to check the boot order in the BIOS....

who made the PC?

Check the bios for the boot order and set it to boot from cd first, then you will need to press a key most likely to actually have it read the disc once the pc reboots.

tried it didn't work... we put in a new cdrom and that seems to have fixed the boot problem... still had to wipe everything clean though
