Default Dell laptop battery

I bought this Dell laptop almost 2 years ago, my first laptop. The battery would last over 2 hours when I first got it.

Now the damn thing is only lasting an hour if I'm lucky. I usually run it down before charging so I don't think it's battery memory.

Is this normal for laptop batteries to do this? Is there an aftermarket source for batteries or do I have to go back to Dell?

Thanks

laptop batterys have a short life, most only last one year before they are toast. it is very common for them to go out. as for replacing, i would go back to dell. i have ordered many replacement batterys from them with no issues. there are other companys that make them, but i would go with an oem from dell. the other companys batterys dont last as long and are right about the same price.
as for price expect 70 to 150 dollars depending on cells and model.

My GF bought me a battery for my laptop a couple months ago.

It's a Dell 600m. I think the battery was 27 bucks.

It lasts like three hours. I was VERY impressed with how long it lasts and how incredibly cheap it was.

PM me and i'll see if i can get the website from her....

Watch out, its going to explode sending flaming shrapnel into your nards.

My Compaq V2000 only lasts like 20 mins on a charge. I know the battery is shot. I just wish it was in my funds to replace it with a 12 cell battery.

LI-ion batteries will degrade overtime. You'll be fortunate to get at least 450 cycles out of one battery.
