Default Win XP install missing files?

When I format a drive, it tells me xxxxx file is not found. This happens with different files each time. I have switched different discs, swapped hard drives, and tried different cd drives. Anybody encounter this?

UPDATE: I found out it was a bad stick of RAM. I swapped out every part of the computer including the MB and CPU...

Thanks for all the Help!!

I never thought of that. I am doing the quick, but I think I hae tried the full/regular format.
The files that are missing are differnt all the time and I can see no pattern as to which files it is.

Try cleaning the CD by using dish soap and lightly washing it under running water then shake it dry and use toilet paper to blot it dry. 99% of the time that will fix it.

If you are using a burned copy and it wont go after washing it you got a bad copy....
