Default Can't figure it out! Capturing from my DV cam...

I've tried USB and Firewire/DV cables and the camcorder will not get recognized by Windows. I even tried a workaround with the firewire crap by using SP1 drivers but that didn't work either. I'm really getting pissed cause I keep spending money trying to get the damn thing to work and it's NOT working....

Any ideas?

My camcorder came with a program, and drivers to load on the computer. Anytime I plug the camera into the firewire port it opens up the software and asks where I want to save the file.
Did your camera come with any software? can you go to the camera manufacturers website and download software, or drivers?

no theres no software or drivers to download. although i did see a page that listed 2 different cd's but it didn't say what was on the cd's exactly, it just said "software cd" and so i emailed them asking if there needed to be any type of drivers or anything and no response yet. if the cd's didn't cost $8 each i'd just go ahead and get them. im thinking my best bet is to just put this cam back up on ebay and get another one after it sells

What kind of media does it use? Does your computer have a 6 in 1 media readers you could use?

Or, check the manufacturer website. You might be able to get .ISO files for the CD-ROMS that were originally packaged with the camera.
