Default Geek Squad?? Anyone know ip addresses to bellsouth servers?

Basically, I have a few of the IP addresses(DNS) for Bellsouth in my area and was wondering if there were any others that people knew how to find.

I live in Athens, GA 30606.

Thanks,
Paul

I guess I found the answer I was looking for.
Anyone with bellsouth fast access can go to this site and log in
https://www5.bellsouth.net/AILogin.shtml

Then under cities, click Dial in Sites and select your city or the closest one. Then you see the dns servers you should be using.

The status page for my Linksys router setup shows my dns server IP's. It gets it from the modem.

Are you on cable or dsl?
Only way I know to use a router with dsl is to use PPPOE put in your login info and manually enter the dns servers. Cable, on the other hand, is just setting it to auto config dhcp and it does the work for you.

Mmmm, Cable. It varies from one system to another. I had Verizon DSL before I got cable and was able to use the router straight out of the box. (back then I didn't know a thing about setting it up tho )

Now I setup each PC with fixed IP's and turn DHCP off it's much more reliable that way since the IP's never change.

I have a server running and several file sharing proggys that need specific ports forwarded to the various machines, it can be a pain in the ass after a restart without manually setting them up. There's 4 PC's in here on 24/7

dhcp is evil. seriously. heres how my interweb is set up. im on wireless to a linksys router, which is plugged into another computer, and into a linksys firewall router, which is plugged into a comp, and a sattelite modem. its a bitch, everything tries to take the same ip at the same time. i hate it.

DHCP doesn't assign multiple IPs to different adapters. That's the whole advantage of DHCP.
