What Web page Program to buy?

Looking into creating a web page.

Any suggestions on programs out there like Front page, dreamweaver, etc...?

I dont want to spend alot of $$ but I want a user friendly program that has room to grow. I don't need all the fancy bells and whistles either.

Do you know HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript? Do you just want templates created for you, or do you want a powerful development tool?

There are many different tools based on your need. Dreamweaver will offer you a little of every world... MS FrontPage is like "beginners" webpage builder.

Most of us nerds use code to do CSS markup nowadays. Things like Eclipse and BBEdit are the defacto standards for Enterprise apps, as far as Java-based sites go. The Microsofties use .NET in Visual Studio to do most of their stuff.

I tend to prefer AnyEdit for hacking out code, but to each their own. Editor wars are more brutal than OS fights.

If you just want to toss up a web page and not worry about the coding, FrontPage or Dreamweaver will be your best bets.
