Default ghosting problem. and removing program problems.

So. I have a 19 inch monitor 8MS. I turned the resolution to 1280x1024 and now its proportioned. But the only problem im having is that I have a ghosting problem. I can see the image of every icon right behind the real icon. It makes my text look blurry. What can i do about this?

Also, im trying to remove programs, but it is saying "The windows installer Service could not be accessed. this can occur if you are running windows in safe mode, or if Windows Installer is not correctly installed."

what does that mean? Im trying to delete some programs but its not letting me. Im not running in safe mode either.

I would appreciate any help! thanks

I've seen goofy things if the screen refresh rate isn't set right, but I make no promises that it will work. As for the other, sorry dude, no clue.

Oh, where did you get that avatar, she's HOT!!

Display Properties --> Settings -- Advanced Button
If your display driver for your monitor and video card are correct you should has specific Refresh Rates listed.

Zone Alarm may have stopped the Windows Installer Service or you may simply need to upgrade your Service Pack. The Installer component can be downloaded separately.
