I bought a SV1000S in April. I love it. I've been riding for six years, this is my third bike. I had a zx6 before. This thing kicks its ass. I've got Yosh RS-3 pipes and the two inch taller than stock windscreen that suzuki makes. The exhaust sounds awesome and will rush up to 120+mph no problem. I just did an 500+mile day this past weekend, it was completely comfortable. Long distance, cruising or riding like a loon, the SV does it all well.

I would totally agree with what was said above. I have about 4000 miles on my 03 and it has been a blast. For real world performance the twin is tough to beat. I had Helibars put on today and now it's even better.

Just traded an 04 VStrom DL1000 on a 03 SV1000S that Suzuki had a special on (lower fairing & extended warranty). I love this bike. Light, plenty of power and handles well. I also feel that the V-twin allows for a narrower bike. Just have 1200 miles on and I am averaging 46.5 mpg. I also think that the styling of the SVS is the most aggressive looking of ALL the sport bikes. And there are as many accessories available as you would like to buy.

Is the SV supposed to be the replacement for the TL1000R? What are the specs on the new SV1000S? How much do they cost?

I am 38 yrs old and have been riding my entire life (on and off road). I raced in the late 80's-early 90's-all inline fours. a buddy of mine let me ride his Duc and I have been hooked on twins. i have three kids so I can't afford a Duc, so I had to "settle" on th SV. I have an '06 s model with PCIII, K&N and Two Bros carbon exhaust. All I can say is "Kick Ass!" I don't condone hard steet riding, but I am guilty of the "do as i say do, not as I do"-my buddy can't keep up with me on his warmed over Duc that cost him twice as much. I won't even get into the middleclass, inline fours. Yes, you will not have the 160 mph top end of the hyper 600's, but if you have been riding for any amount of time you know that most street riding /racing is done in the midrange and that is where the SV is king...
Get the SV-you won't regret it

While I agree with all of the above and love my sv1ks, it looks like the OP got an sv650s OVER 2 YEARS AGO.
