Question question about oil leak

well this past fall I winterized my bike and filled up the oil all the way to the fill hole. So now a couple of months later right after we had 2 days of nice weather upper 50's lower 60's, my oil started to leak. I noticed this a day or so after the warm weather came in. Big puddle of leaked oil. I'm wondering if the temperature had anything to do with the oil leak. If not, why did it take so long after filling for it to leak? It didn't leak gradually, it leaked out into a small puddle which took roughly overnight???

Why did you fill it to the fill hole and not just the full line of the sight glass?
