Default Engine K5 600 and K6 600, Different?

i was wodnering. i was told the K4-K5 were a little weaker than the K6-K7 600's

does anyone know if this is true? i was looking into getting a K5 600 for a track/race bike. and i know you can get just about anything for the K4-K year bike. but the engine was not as strong as the K6+ ones.

if true. whats are the changes?

thanks,
brent

very subtle differences. i have the 06, its not a bad little motor for a 600. i could be wrong on this but if i remember right the 05 made a little more power up top and revved faster but the 06 makes more down low and has a smoother power band. either way your not going to go wrong.
