Default Frame Sliders

Hey all, I had a quick question about frame sliders for my 07 GSXR600 so I figured I would post over here.

Im trying to find out if a particular company makes a really good aftermarket frame slider for our bikes or if the suzuki ones work well. I heard some horror stories about yamaha frame sliders providing little to no protection on bikes they were designed to go on.

I also would like to know if there are frame sliders that do not require any modifications of the body because when I asked about them at the dealership where I bought the bike they told me they had to cut some piece or other to make them fit. I was a little bit suspicious about that and I think they may have just been trying to farm some commision out of me.

Any advice would be great.

Some frame sliders do require bodywork modification / cutting, others use brackets that reposition the sliders so you don't have to cut your fairings. Generally speaking (and I stress the 'general' part)... frame sliders that require cutting and mount directly perform better than offset sliders, and do so with less added weight.

I personally endorse Woodcraft Sliders, and am somewhat biased towards them, but that's only because I believe in them, and know them to work well.

Jody pretty much summed it up. Woodcraft makes great products. I use their front and rear stands, and also have their case covers. My frame sliders are Vortex, and have tested them to be durable and do the job.

Would be great if motoslider.com made you frame sliders too. Looks like they only offer swing arm sliders for the GSXRs. I can say that for their other models, they have been tested and proved to be worth every penny.

I wish that I had the pictures handy, but a local buddy went down twice last month and didn't have a chance to replace them in between. The sliders took a licking, but never broke....just shaved down.

I've talked to many people with this same experience, hence....I bought a set for myself! I just don't want to have to test mine!

I think I might go with woodcraft....googled reviews for em and asked a few buddies of mine about them and they all told me they are a solid product.

Thanks for the advice guys.
