Default What's wrong with my Gixxer K6

I had just finished performing the basic maintenance on my K6 Gixxer 2 weeks ago. New plugs, fresh oil and filter, and cleaned the air filter. So I decided to take it out for a little ride and all of a sudden as I come to a stop, the bike just dies on me. It just shuts off completely. I know I have gas cause I gassed up before I left. So I came back home and checked it out. everything was fine. checked the plugs and oil level. Looks ok. Looked around to see if anything was grounded but it checked out fine. So I decided to start it up and let it sit for a few minutes. After about 5 minutes, it dies on me again. Here I am scratching my head tryin to figure out why it keeps dying on me. Somebody, if anybody, out there, please let me know so I can correct it. Thank You.

Cleaned the air filter? Is it a K&N or simular? Did you get all the vacuum hoses reattached?

Yeah its a K&N. I cleaned it and oiled it back up. All vaccuum hoses are connected. I'm thinking maybe its something electrical.

What did you have to move/disconnect to get to what you actually did? The parts you changed aren't the problem. Try: pinched fuel vent hose; tipover switch, any electrical connections you removed. For the pinched hose, try starting it and letting it run with the gas cap ajar and see if it still dies.

No. The FI light was on but cleared that by removing a wire.

The FI light was on when I had swapped the exhaust with a 2 Brothers. I put it in dealer mode and the only code that came up was C00, which there was nothing wrong. I did remove the butterfly exhaust when I installed the 2 Bros. exhaust but it was the FI light that I wanted to get rid of. It had just started dying on me a few weeks ago after I did maintenance on it. I'm thinking its either electrical, where something is grounded or Im not gettin spark to 1 of my cylinders but the plugs seem to be fine.

I had the Tip sensor go bad. The bike would just die with no pattern. But it did set a code the led me right to the bad sensor. Is it possible that when you pulled the wire to clear the exhaust code that you disabled the on board diagnostic display?
