Default Backfire From Carbs

When I am Cruising Along At A Constant Speed, I Occasionaly Get A Backfire Through The Carb. What Is Causing This? Running Too Rich?

My '95 did this until the carbs were rejetted. This greatly improved warm up time and all around driveability. Has your bike been rejetted?

Yes, its a 1999 750SS, fuel injected, has a power comm., and staintuned pipes. It only coughs when im in 5th gear at around 4000 rpms and stay at this speed for a long period of time. If I drop down a gear to bring the revs up it doesnt do it. Not a big deal but i want to make sure i dont mess anything up by letting it go. Thanks, Fogarty

I doubt very much that your fuel injected bike is backfiring through the carbs.

a pal has recently had a similar problem of a fuel injected 750ss - traced to pinched tank breath tube uner the tank.

to inside tubes vent the tank when the tank in place the tubes were squashed and pinched by the shocker springs. pull the tube down as the tank is lowered.
