The only reason I purchased my Dark is because they aren't in production any longer. I actually like the looks of the 749-999 line, but my favorite would have to be the 996.

I still purchased the Dark with the knowledge of the 1098's release.

I prefer the 999 to the 1098. I like the look, design and most of all the star trek exhaust system.

I'm pretty sure maintenance intervals on the 1098 are 7500 miles rather then 6000 now....ducati seems to be pushing reduced maintenance pretty hard as a selling point....

Just got my 600 mile tune up and paid $ 290.00 it also included 2 T-shirts. The appointment lasted a couple of hours.

I also learned that the " scheduled maintenance " fees for the 1098 are advertised to be low, but it's just an advertising strategy.

I was told you can expect to pay the same as always on maintenance fees for the 1098 from the owner of the shop.
