999 Stuck in gear
Sunday I was headed down to Hahm Motorsports to meet up with Chandra. As I got off the freeway I started downshifting and when I hit fourth gear, the lever didn't pop back up. I tapped it again, then underneath. Nothing. I was able to coast to a hotel parking lot and had to get the bike towed.
I called the dealer today (Monday). He said they had to replace the return spring inside the tranny on another bike because of something similar.
My bike had been giving me intermittent fits with false neutrals and occassionally not wanting to drop down through all the gears back to 1st. All this started to happen after I was riding my bike home from the dealership and the shift linkage pulled apart (the 2 piece adjustment rod). We'll see what the dealer says when they look inside the tranny.

Paid $7600 from a private party. More than he could deal with for a first bike. Bike had 122 miles on it when I bought it. SWEEEEET.
As for my Duc, that's what the dealer said.I'll have to wait and see.

As it turns out, my 999 was stuck because the shift fork popped out of the groove it rides in on whatever that thing is called. It wedged against said "whatever thing it's called" and wouldn't move. The dealer has seen 3 other bikes with the same problem. She got out of surgery yesterday and is resting comfortably in my garage (at least until this Sunday).
