Traded my ZX-10R for this 2003 749 with only 2200 miles and not a mark on it. Any advice on how to get a the air box? It seems the whole tank and seat come off as one. Do I need to drain the gas???

The seat and tank are one single piece apparently. It's also supposed to be adjustable by 20mm fore and aft. Not sure if you've got to drain the tank. I would, just to be on the safe side.

Also, I think I hate you. That there is one of my dream bikes. Of course I can't even afford the insurance on one let alone the bike..............but thats totally besides the point
Absolutly beautiful machine.
Congrats.

Bzzzzzzzzzzz! Incorrect Bob! The seat and tank are two different pieces though there is a very large bolt that connects the two together. You CAN (for service) basically lift up the tank, seat and tail piece as one whole unit and prop it up with whatever you like (my dealer does this all the time) in order to get to all the juicy bits underneath.

The bike pictured there is a Biposto (two seater) with a seat cowl on it and as such you cannot adjust the seat forward or back. Only the Monoposto subframes have the adjustability.

Hope that clears it up for you.

Oh and very nice bike... ride it like you stole it (at the track of course!!)

Cheers!

I think the bolt is a 21mm if I remember correctly.
