Default Just saying hi

Bought my new '05 999 about a month ago, figured i'd come in and say hi. I've been mostly feeling the boards out so this is one of my first posts.

The bike is everything i thought it would be and then some. Too bad the weather is getting a little too cold around here to really enjoy it. Are there many duc superbike guys around here?

Well, I'll chime in. I just bought a 2003 749 Superbike w/only 2200 miles and only got to ride it around the block. It is really cold here in PA- right now about 25 degrees. I can say that just around the block that it is going to take some time to get used to. I've never owned a Duc or a twin for that matter. It is also the heaviest bike I have ever owned, but I do like the riding position alot.

I own an 04 749 Dark that I've put about 23,000Km on it via commuting, touring and tracking. If you need info and such I am more than happy to help out.

Also not slamming these forums but they can be pretty quiet for Duc related things. www.speedzilla.com/forums has a great Ducati section and www.ducati.ms is also a great resource for Duc owners.

Good luck and congrats on the bike.

Cheers!

Right here, the state just north of you. Riding a 999 year round for three years now. Zero problems. Nothing but grins.

Absolutely. Looking forward to bringing a bike down to New Mex one of these days. What would be on your short list of roads to ride around Alb and Santa Fe?

between santa fe and albuquerque to the west is jemez springs and is regarded as one of the premier bike routes around the area. Any of the mountain roads in santa fe and ABQ are awesome as well- tons of switchbacks.

I'm jealous of you guys out west. So much more room to ride out there. Traffic here on the East Coast can be horrendous and frustrating. The twisty mountain roads are great, but I'm sure you have them as well.

Nice pix of the monoposto...! Hey Travis, have done mod on your '05 yet? When i got mine it didn't take me two weeks to mod the pipes...it sounds awesome with the Remus Ti slip-ons...you should look at it...

Whoops, gotta change my info. There was a little miscommunication w/ the dealer about the history on my '05 when i bought it. One thing lead to another and i picked up a brand new '06 999. Just took it over 100mi.
Im planning on putting in a front sprocket after the 600mi service and we'll see about the pipes. Those things arent cheap!
