Glad I could shed some light guys!

There are no two ways about it... the Ducati's ARE more expensive to maintain. That being said however, the bike is pure passsion to ride, it really is. It is certainly a more exclusive machine and the attention you get (good AND bad) is there in a big way (not that this was a reason I purchased mine). I have always wanted a Ducati.

There is also no doubt that bang for buck, the inline 4's have the Italian bikes beat hands down. The RSV's are a great value for an exotic bike. You get a litre bike, exotic looks, fantastic components and a *reasonable* price tag when comparing other exotic bikes (Ducs, MV's, etc).

It all comes down to what you are comfortable with both bike wise and pocketbook wise. No point in buying an expensive machine if it sits in the garage due to budget constraints. As long as you own and ride a machine you personally like, you won't ever go wrong.

The 05 GSXR1000 is a bike that just blew me away... absolutely an amazing machine to ride. Ultra-smooth, mind blowing power (it comes on quick when it hits the band) and in all black looks incredibly sexy. A buddy of mine just got his (the one I rode) and he sold his RSV Factory in favor of returning to the Gixxer.

Let us know what you ultimately decide and of course we expect pictures!

Cheers!
