Default Lowering a 748 or 749

I'll be picking up wither a 748 or 749 this winter, I'm interested to know how much I can lower the bike. I'm about 5'7" and the last time I was on a 748 it was a little high when I was stopped at lights. So, I'd like to lower it a bit. Is there an easy fix for this? How will this effect the performance of the bike? Between the 748 and 749, is one easier to lower?

TIA
