Default Ducati 749 Dark...looking for facts and advice..

Hi guys, im a new guy here so hello to all. I just have a few questions, I recently bought a 2006 Ducati 749 Dark. Going to be picking it up in April, I kinda walked into this blind i guess you can say. Im curious what maintenance costs are usually on these superbike ducs. As well as common problems I should be expecting. This is actually my first motorcycle, so theres the added fact that im in experienced as well. Most of my buddies that have bikes are saying it was stupid to start off with a $20,000.00 motorcycle. But the bike looks sooo dam cool. Actually after seeing this bike for the first time, it was the reason I went out to get my bike licence.
Also, the bike is coming as a bi posto and I hate two seater bikes. I want to have it converted to a mono. How hard is it to convert from bi to mono? and if needed can i switch back to bi posto quickly?
How much dose the piece cost anyway?

thanks guys

Chris

You're screwing with us right? Let's review:
- 19 years old, but had $20,000 to blow on a Duc?
- 19, and a Duc dealer sold you one anyway?
- Blew $20,000 on a first bike?
- R6 didn't do anything for you? It's only like the best bike there is for under $10,000.

I call on you!

If you are not jerking us around, I hope you live to see 20. If this is the case, let me know and I will tell you how to stay alive.

aww come on guys this isn't the kind of reposne I was expecting, If it makes any difference. I don't intend on ridingt it alot...more using it as a display piece in my place than actually riding it around to show it off. But if I am going to ride...and possibly die I figure, why not go out in style right?. Not that I intend too. I mean really, you can die on a bicycle if you land the wrong way. Iv had alot of people give me alot of slack cause I bought a ducati as my first bike. But at the same time, my first car was also a porsche. Im still alive, anyone feeling the need to make a stupid comment don't bother.I've heard them a million times. Im only looking for serious opinion and facts please, andd if some of you are wondering nooo daddy didn't by me the bike or the car. There all 100% mine, anyway guys, some serious numbers and prices would be appreciated. Thanks..
