I don't think he gets it. A fast bike for a first bike is much much different than a fast car for a first car. Trust me

+1 to your guys's comments. I have a feeling some duc parts are gonna be bought off ebay real soon. My question is, if you bought the porsche and duc yourself and only 19? How did you manage that.

I think I can answer that. The town I come from in Houston is called The Woodlands and most of it is very very very rich, supposed to be second to Beverly Hills. I'm not one of those rich people but I've been around plenty of them. When someone at my school got a new car and said they bought it with their own money, it usually turned out that they worked for their dad. So technically it is their own money but they didn't earn it.

Example: the quarterback on my football team someone managed to buy a Hummer with "his own money" then jack it up 10 inches.

Question: now how does a high school kid make that much money with school, football and everything else going on?

answer: work for daddy.

I think this is the same thing, unless this post is total

Guys I think you missed a major flaw in the story. Who pays $20K for a 749 Dark? The things MSRP is $12.5K. If dude really paid for it, man he got majorly ripped off! He ought to get plenty of highschool poon for his purchase though, lucky bastard!!

Everything is more expensive in Canada. I hardly believe a kid thats 19 that lives in Toronto will have a porshe and a Duc. But theres those lucky people out there that have the cash to spend. I played football and i go to school, I bought my bike for 2600$ and took me for ever to get. By the way congrats on the bike but my course instructer had a ducati and cost him 1600$ for maintance. And about the bi and mono seat u can get seat cowl and change it when ever you want.

good luck

alright guys, just to clear stuff up for you guys a bit. Because it looks like there is a little confusion as to how I have the toys I have. Please don't think of me as a prick or hate me because of what I have or do. Cause I also get that allot to. Im actually a verryy easy going, fair and honest guy. Yes I am 19, NO i am not in highschool or school period. No I don't work for my dad or mom, infact I haven't seen my day in 8 years. and im actually teaching my parents how to make money they way I do now. I live in toronto, in my own condo on my own. I don't belive in leasing or financing, everything I have I own. How do I have the money for all this you may be wondering, if you noticed in my description I state I am a real estate agent AND currency trader. Iv been trading since I was 15 and Iv been an agent for about 2 years now. There are some weeks were I can push $4000US a week TRADING ALONE. Not including commission on a house after it closes. I am also happy to say, I did do it on my own. I never liked and hated the idea of taking money that is just given to me. So I made sure anything I ever bought was bought and paid for by me. I had a concept pretty early in life, if i took care of myself, learned and got involved in things at as young an age as possible. I wont be regreting anything by the time im 40 as most people do when they hit that age and ask themselves. hmm what the hell have I been doing for the last 20 years with nothing to show for it?. And its true, my concept works and its proven IM the example. Most people that in turn hate me Because of what I have and do, I find are usually twice my age. Only Because Im a reminder of what time they've wasted. So they get envyous and hate me Because of it. Doesn't bother me though, Cause like I said the + about thinking ahead like I do. I can afford to not give a shit at this point, they cant.

Also someone made a comment about the bike only costing $12 grand or something. I bought it for $16,500 bran new at the dealer + tax $2475 + PDI $1200 = a grand total of $20,175.00 (not including the gear) another $2000.

Have a nice day...

There all 100% mine, anyway guys, some serious numbers and prices would be appreciated. Thanks..
If the story's not BS, you've got way more than just a little bit of learning to do in regards to motorcycling.
1) Riding a fast motorcycle can NOT be compared to driving a fast car. No matter how hard you hit the Porsche's gas, it will not loop and buck you off. No matter how hard you slam on the Porsche's brakes, it will NOT throw you through the windscreen or wash out from under you. The worst you could do with turning is to spin it, maybe slide into a ditch. On a motorcycle, you're likely to be hurt very, very badly by this. Learning to ride a motorcycle is much more like learning how to fly an aircraft. One stupid move, and you can finish yourself off; this is just not nearly as likely in a car. Any idiot can drive a Porsche. NOT any idiot could hop on a 749 and not get hurt within 20 seconds.
2) Ducatis are more expensive to maintain than Japanese motorcycles, yes. But not so much as people tend to think. Here, a valve adjustment for a Testastretta Ducati runs about $600, where a Japanese bike costs about $400 or so. US Dollars, of course. They need to be adjusted every 6000 miles, though, as most Japanese bikes are 12-24,000 miles.
3) Read the stickies.
4) As for the converting to single-seat config, you'll have to check out the Speedzilla forums for that one. www.speedzilla.com As for cost, it's not cheap, since (if I'm not mistaken) you have to replace the entire tail piece of the bike.

Ya I know insurance is ridiculous!!!...it always is. Im paying $8000 for my Porsche right now. As for the bike like I said I only plan on riding it every so often. So im planning to insure it for the first year only, only because I imagine im gonna wanna be taking it out quite a bit when I first get it. After that im just gonna keep it in my living room as a display piece, and insure it against fire and theft. I think thats only like $80- $100 or something a month. Its cheap and im still covered. I'll probably take it out the odd time, I don't want to keep it sitting forever. So thatsss the plann, what do you think??
