Default 998 service manual

I just bought a used 998. It is overdue for a valve adjustment. I want to do it myself but the service manual is $85. Is there an non-offical version or some other way I can get detailed instructions?

damn, i wish i still had that site on how to do it. seriously man, if you don't have the proper tools and are a really good mechanic, don't attempt it. first off, you will need a shim kit because you don't really know how much adjustment you are going to need until you open it up. Second, I am not completely sure but your bike might have the chrome rocker problem, where they are chipping and need to be replaced.

You can get a hanes manual but there is a good site out there and some guy sells a good video on how to do it properly. I will look for it and try to get back to you.
