Default Im about to Purchase my first Duc have a couple ?'s

Well, I have made up my mind. Im gona spend the money and get a Duc. The only question is, should I go with a new 05 999 or should I save some cash and try to find a clean 02 998. Whats the main differences between the two? Ive been riding for 6 years and have a 01 GSXR 750. I know Ducati's are much more high maintanace than my gixxer but I dont care. Also If I get a monoposto how hard is it to switch back and forth to a biposto setup if you even can. Any feedback is appreciated. By the way Im new here and this is my first post so Hi!

Thanks

welcome to SBN

from what little i know about ducati, the Testastretta engine is more reliable than the previous engines. Testastretta engines have less moving parts involving less maintenance. i here it's a great bike. people who don't own one will tell you some of the most ignorent BS stories about ducati. buy what you like but don't let some one BS you.
